Magnetic FerroSilicon Supplier

Produced in arc furnaces, magnetic ferrosilicon is an angular black powder when properly milled. It is useful in dense medium separations of ores and in the process of making steel products. As a powder, ferrosilicon is used in special floor coating applications as an aggregate. The composition is roughly 15% silicon which inhibits the oxidation of iron, such that the particles will not exhibit common oxidation (rust). As such ferrosilicon could be a replacement for stainless steel aggregates in many applications.
